Zucker Hosts Boeing Event - December 16, 2014

On Tuesday, December 16th, Boeing anounced a $100,000 donation to the Lowcountry Food Bank and a $5 million donation to MUSC.  The announcement, which was made at an event held at Jerry Zucker Middle School, was attended by representatives from Boeing, MUSC and the Lowcountry Food Bank as well as North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey and Charleston Mayor Joe Riley.  JZMS Principal Jake Perlmutter and 8th graders Tilayah Bennett and Matthew Greene spoke at the event.  The event also included a performance by the JZMS Band under the direction of Mr. Mark Romano and a tour of the JZMS garden and citrus orchard by students from Mr. Van Skoik's horticulture class.  At the conclusion of the event, all JZMS students and staff were given a bag of fresh produce donated by the Lowcountry Food Bank.
